Ran today along the now familiar loop near my office. It was a beautiful day in North East Texas. Not quite as strong as yesterday, but I felt loose and had a nice kick to finish. Nothing really remarkable to report except for a near race with a local shepherd (the German, barking kind, not a guy with sheep). It's getting more fun all the time. I'm looking forward to getting with Willie on the road one of these months. We've had some great duels in our past!
I also spent some time working on a list of gear and expenses for this little adventure. Given the temperatures we'll encounter at night and the ability of the weather to change from nice to nasty fast at elevation, there's a lot to get. Most of it's required by the race organizers to ensure safety. Bear repellent was not among the required items.
Time of Day - 12:05 PM
Weather - Warm, mid 70's, fairly still
Route - Bogata loop +, complete
Distance - Not sure
Pace -Not sure; having trouble with Nike +
Time - 19 minutes active running, more warm up, stretch and cool down
iPod - Third Eye Blind, various. Great band. Still a definite favorite. Mixed a little Chad Peavy in as will. Wish there was more of his stuff to be had.
Comments - Felt good, had a nice finish. Building stamina and mental toughness. All will be needed.
