RMNP

Didn't run yesterday. We went up to Rocky Mountain National Park to watch the elk bugling. During this time of year the rutting calls of bull elk can be heard in the park just before dusk to dawn. The bugle is a distinctive sound that starts deep and resonant, and becomes a high pitched squeal before ending in a succession of grunts. We saw a bull rounding up his "harem" in Horseshoe Park and took a video as he went out to another herd and gathered up two of its cows. He was definitely in command. Unfortunately my video wouldn't upload. So a few pics instead - he is the guy in the top picture. The other two pictures were at Beaver Meadows.
