Comments - Went for a form of training I haven't done since college: fartlek. Fartlek has nothing to do with beans or jet propulsion, but is Swedish for "speed play". It's a training technique that involves varying intensity by alternating between slow and fast intervals, based either on distance or time. Fartlek sessions are usually unstructured so that the intervals can vary as the participant desires. Fartlek puts stress over the aerobic and anaerobic systems so its a great way to mix things up. My old coach Ted Hoffman taught me about this years ago. I'd love to track him down. He was an Olympic alternate for Montreal and LA and a great guy.
The heaviness in my legs from yesterday was gone today. Maybe I just needed to get moving again.
